Logging in to the Center for Excellence in Long Term Care website and finding the course you want to take just got easier.
We have updated the website where users and new registrants can go to either the Courses tab on the menu bar, or to one of the Getting Started buttons on the homepage to access the educational content. Users will be prompted to first log in or register if this is your first time using the site. You can also go to the Register or Login tab if you prefer.
Currently, Phase 1 to 3 are active for users who sign up under one of the five roles -- RN/LVN, CNA, Medical Provider, Administrator, and Lay Provider. Each course has educational contact hours attached to it upon completion, including a quiz and evaluation.
We are glad to hear that nursing facilities are sending their staff to take advantage of this free educational resource. While you are on the site take a look at the Educational Services tab also. There are archived presentations from gerontology and disability experts on topics like pain management and restless leg syndrome, research opportunities, and a resource page. If there are resources that you would like to see on this list, please let us know. This site is for everyone who works or has an interest in long-term care in Texas and beyond.
