April Ernst has more than 32 years experience as a nurse and nurse educator. Since 2012, she has owned an independent consulting business providing expertise in nursing education and medical malpractice cases.
Her involvement in nursing education has included roles as a teacher, director, corporate administrator and independent consultant for the past 25 years, 15 of which were at the RN associate degree level with 10 years in vocational education. Her expertise is in curriculum development and innovation having developed four vocational nursing programs in Corpus Christi, Houston, Grand Prairie, Texas, and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ms. Ernst has developed three associate degree RN programs in San Antonio and Houston.
Clinically, Ms. Ernst’s background includes the specialty areas of coronary care, intensive care, medical-surgical nursing and long-term care having spent 18 years as a staff nurse, and then an educator. She has consulted for law firms in Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas over the past 15 years.
