Nina Almasy, MSN, RN
Associate Professor, Vocational Nursing Faculty, Austin Community College

Since 2003, Nina Almasy has served on the faculty at Austin Community College (ACC) Vocational Nursing Program. In her role, she has served on several college-wide committees as well as the Faculty Senate. She is a graduate of the ACC Leadership Academy Program and was selected by the provost to serve on the college wide “Futures Institute” Advisory Committee in 2015.

In 2012, she was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Texas Board of Nursing (BON) to represent LVN education. She also serves on the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) NCLEX Item-Review Subcommittee.

Currently, Ms. Almasy is a student in the Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) program at The University of Texas at Austin. Her research interests include improving the transition to practice of nurses newly employed in long term care settings. She is currently developing and testing content for a transition to practice training program for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
