The course "Supporting Your Antibiotic Stewardship Program" has just been added to our education offerings under Educational Phase 2: Advanced Geriatric Practice.
It aims to help nursing facility staff understand the need for having a quality antibiotic stewardship program, and how each role on the care team is required to insure its effectiveness. The objectives of the course will allow members of the care team to:
• Understand the federal and state’s vested interest in requiring antibiotic stewardship programs to be implemented,
• Know the importance of having an antibiotic stewardship program fully integrated into the daily care processes with residents, and
• Describe several tools and methods that provider teams can utilize within an antibiotic stewardship program to manage the care of residents.
There will be educational contact hours associated with this course soon, and they are retroactive. To access this free course, or any of the other course offerings, go to the Courses tab on the menu bar, or to the Phase 2: Getting Started button on the homepage.
