Self-management of Disability in Mexican American Men and Women with Osteoarthritis

Dr. Harrison's research study is an investigation of how different biological and social factors influence how people age while they manage living with a functional limitation. We are studying how having a disability might affect the aging process. Here's how you can help:

A person with a

mobility limitation that affects ability to walk, climb, stand, and bend

Have arthritis
Age 40 to 80 years
Hispanic background
Speak English or Spanish
Discuss views on self-management of disability
Interested in completing a written survey questionnaire on how your ability to function has affected your life
Willing to provide a teaspoon of saliva by spitting into a tube
Willing to provide a 20 ml sample, or two vials of blood, from your vein, which would be collected by our trained research nurse
